Dagoretti North Member of Parliament(MP) Simba Arati on Sunday claimed that his life is in danger.
Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony of MP-elect Bernard Okoth Imran at DC grounds, Kibra, the MP claimed that he received a phone call from Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi who allegedly told him his life is on the line.
The MP, however, exuded confidence that he will not be cowed by intimidation saying he is ready to take them on.
“Oscar Sudi called me and told me that they will kill me. I know on whose behalf he was talking for. But I’m not shaken, there is nothing they can do otherwise I am ready,” said Arati.
Arati’s statement comes at a time when Jubilee leaders are demanding for his arrest over pockets of violence that were witnessed during the Thursday voting exercise in Kibra by-election.
Sudi was reportedly chased away in Kibra during the voting exercise by unknown groups of youths.
Also, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was involved in a stone-throwing contest with unidentified youths in Kibra over unknown reasons.
However, the ODM brigade claimed that the two were allegedly bribing voters in Kibra.
In another incident, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was roughed up by a group of youths in the company of Arati.
In the video footage, Arati was captured shaking hands with some Jubilee leaders then shortly an altercation ensued leading to a push and pull.
Jubilee leaders, however, accused Arati of orchestrating the attack meted on Barasa.
However, Arati on Sunday said he was the one who saved the MP from angry youths who were baying for his blood.
