Kenya confirmed eight more coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on sunday bringing the numbers to 15 amid rumours and speculations on social media that there have been deaths. The new cases comprised of three kenyan nationals and five foreigners who traveled from Europe and America between March 1 and 17, Health Mutahi Kagwe said.
The country has since been engulfed in fear with the state enlightening the public on measures to avoid further spread and infection of the deadly virus. All public gatherings have been banned including churche services, BBI campaigns, all learning institutions have been shut and people advised to work from their homes where possible.
The government has not laid stricter measures compared to countries like Uganda and Rwanda that have oredered complete shut downs.
In Kenya it’s partially business as usual with clubs and socials joints still allowed to run till 7.30pm and the general ignorance exhibited by both state and the general public is still exposing the entire public to possible community infections that can happen any soon.

This is happening as the numbers continue to soar with the country now staring at a possible complete lock down.
Carelessness about handling of COVID 19 has been displayed even by politicians and public officers who have traveled abroad ignoring to self quarantine.
Kilifi County Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi could be one of the new cases the government announced yesterday. The politician has been mingling with the public in funerals and county staffers after he ignored to self quarantine after recently travelling from Germany that has recorded over 24,000 cases and over 90 deaths.
