Laikipia County Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has revealed ongoing talks to reunite President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto ahead of 2022 presidential elections.
The Laikipia lawmaker has disclosed that there are ongoing top secret talks between the representatives of the Head of State and those of his Deputy Ruto that could culminate in the revival of their bromance.
“Some works are going on behind cameras. People should wait for more surprises. There is a truce that is likely to happen between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto,” Waruguru said.
However, the 34-year-old Women Rep claimed that the process of reuniting the two top National leaders will come at a price.
“Once that happens, there are politicians who will be casualties and others will be used as collateral damage of that truce,” Waruguru stated.
The Kieleweke lawmaker affirmed that the aim of President Uhuru was to leave a united country once he retires in 2022.
The working relationship between the President Uhuru and Ruto has been on the rock after the famous 2018 handshake with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
The Handshake had sparked feelings of betrayal from the DP Ruto who accused the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of entering the government through the back door and causing turmoil.
The second in command had also alleged to have been sidelined in the running of government affairs.
His allies have also accused the President of backtracking on his promise to support Ruto to ascend to state house after his tenure expires in 2022 in favour of Raila.
