According to a twitter thread shared by Murimi Wangu and who fell into the trap of Maina Kamanda’s con daughter, the lady runs Oakwood hospital which is a money minting business.
This article narrates a horrific scheme that exploits Kenyans who seek medical care at Oakwood Hospital Kikuyu(Gikambura).
On the 13th of August 2021 evening,my grandmother was admitted to hospital, OAKWOOD HOSPITAL with low blood sugar.
For the three days she was there,she was only put on oxygen but her condition never improved as her oxygen levels(SPO 2) remained the same.
After consultation with a family doctor,he recommended that she required an ICU/HDU which OAKWOOD HOSPITAL didn’t have.
We thus decided to transfer her to a facility that had an ICU/HDU and we communicated the same to the hospital and requested a transfer of the patient.
The hospital was reluctant on the same as they wanted her to remain in their facility despite not having the required medical services and after several tries(confrontation) they finally accepted.

They then proceeded to give a bill of 301,700(for the four days) despite the patient having not improved in any way.
The question is why would a hospital charge over 300,000 for four days despite the patient having not improved in any way?
I talked to villagers in the neighborhood and they all expressed their anger in how the hospital exploits patients without offering the right medical services.
I have reliable information that the hospital is owned by Josephine (Maina Kamanda’s daughter) who runs the ‘cash-milking’ scheme.
