Self-declared Hustler Nation Spokesman Dennis Itumbi has come out to clear the air over reports of a road accident involving some of Deputy President William Ruto’s aides.
Earlier in the day, reports circulated on social media that Farouk Kibet, an assistant to Vice President William Ruto, was involved in a terrible traffic accident shortly after leaving Migori County.
Some unverified posts seen by kenyanbulletin.com claimed that Kibet was in the company of David Mugonyi, another loyal lieutenant of Ruto and they were trying to flee to Nairobi with the cash they had promised Migori youth.
But according to Itumbi’s tweet on Friday 12 November 2021, this was all fake news.
The former Director of Digital Communications at State House now says that Farouk Kibet was not involved in any road accident.
“Farouk Kibet was NOT involved in any accident. Ignore the FAKE NEWS going round,” read part of his tweet.
Itumbi went on to add that it was in fact two other different aides of the Deputy President that met the unfortunate incident.
“My friend Don and Perry more were however in a road glitch but escaped unhurt,” he added.
This man Farouk Kibet…
Farouk Teigut Kibet, commonly known as Farouk Kibet, has been one of the most powerful aides around the Ruto for over the past ten years.
Kibet holds the fate of those seeking Ruto’s attention in his hands.
Whether at his office at Harambee House Annex or at his posh Karen home.
Ruto’s right-hand man has been described as hawk-eyed and a powerful power broker by several local dailies.
In 2016, he was linked to the infamous NYS corruption saga and went on to confirm that he received Sh 2 million of the embezzled funds.
In an affidavit submitted to the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC), Kibet stated that he received the money as a soft loan from Ben Gethi whom he claimed was an acquittance.
The loyal aide was also mentioned by the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, in alleged involvement in the 2007 post-election violence.
He was accused of tampering with witnesses.
Their friendship dates back to as far as the 90s when they were both members of the KANU youth wing movement under President Daniel Moi’s treacherous regime.
