The much-awaited Luo Festival finally went down at the Ngong Race Course on Saturday night where thousands congregated to celebrate their culture.
Organizers of the action-packed event hosted by Kiss 100 presenter Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o had promised attendees a time of their lives with a host of performances from some of their favourite local musical stars.
Although Ohangla and Benga maestros like Emma Jalamo, Prince Indah, and Elisha Toto graced the stage, it was the appearance of an entirely different public figure that caused the place to erupt with joy and excitement.
From videos seen by kenyanbulletin.com, revellers seemed to appreciate Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s impromptu appearance at the festival that shut down the whole of Nairobi.
The ODM Party leader and 2022 Presidential aspirant made entry with vigorous song and dance accompanied by other politicians who are currently part of his campaign team.
They included Siaya Senator James Orengo, Nairobi County Women Representative Esther Passaris, as well as her counterpart from Murang’a, Sabina Chege.
Being the politician he is, Raila could simply not hold himself from engaging the thrilled crowd on the forthcoming election.
He asked the youthful Kenyans for their support in his latest bid for State House, urging them to be his “soldiers” in August next year.
