Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has weighed in on the controversial snake incident that rocked a delegates gathering hosted by Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka earlier today.
Speaking a few moments after the news went viral, the staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto took the opportunity to superstitiously link the bizarre occurrence to Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu who is a diehard member of the opposing Azimio La Umoja camp.
In a Twitter post published on Saturday, 15th January 2022, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) affiliated legislator insinuated to his followers that the snake which crawled into Kalonzo’s meeting held at his Yatta Farm might have been a mythical representation of the former Lands Cabinet Secretary.
According to Cheruiyot, Ngilu decided to forcefully make entry into the event by all means necessary since she did not receive an official invite from the former Vice President who seeks to consolidate the Kamba vote behind his presidential bid.
“Of course Ngilu had to come and take a listen….
One way or the other…..” he noted in the creptic tweet.
The remarks by the Senator, which come hardly a week after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launched a probe into his earlier inflammatory utterances during a rally in Eldoret, are certainly bound to spark a response from Ngilu who has recently been relentless in her verbal attacks against Cheruiyot and his camp.
During the meeting that brought together clergy members, politically elected and nominated leaders, guests had temporarily to scamper for safety, with a few brave souls rattling the reptile which slithered through the crowd at around noon.
At the time, Kalonzo Musyoka hadn’t arrived at the venue.
Hundreds of leaders from the Eastern region attended the event.
However, Governors Alfred Mutua of Machakos and Kivutha Kibwana of Makueni joined Ngilu to dismiss the meeting but failed to explain why.
