The healthcare sector is no different.
There is no denying that Kenya’s healthcare sector faces a myriad of challenges; one of them being the shortage of healthcare professionals to take care of its burgeoning population.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends a minimum of 21.7 doctors as well as 228 nurses per 100,000 people.
However, in Kenya the WHO figures stood at only 14 doctors and 42 nurses per 100,000 people as of 2016.
This meant that a lot of services were out of reach for Kenyans due to distance and cost of commuting.
Furthemore, the peak of COVID-19 pandemic made the situation worse due to an overstretched system, with many fearful of visiting hospitals for fear of contracting the virus.
It is against this backdrop that many healthcare institutions began rethinking how best to continue serving their patients and still maintain a positive experience.
Evolutionary developments were necessary to stay abreast of the new reality. One such institution was Bliss Healthcare Limited, founded by Mr. Jayesh Saini.
