A family has been trapped in the debris after a six-storey building collapsed in Ruaka, Kiambu county.
The incident occurred at 5 am. The building collapsed on a neighbouring house with family members who were asleep.

The scene of the accident is near the Fortune Club area.
The exact number of family members present at the house was yet to be established before going to press.
Members of the St John Ambulance team are at the scene aiding in the rescue operations.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wmaatangi is also at the scene helping with the coordination.
Kenya Defence Rescue Unit officers have also been spotted at the scene.
The tragedy comes barely three days after a building collapsed in Seasons area Kasarani.
The seven-storey building that collapsed in Kasarani has so far claimed the lives of three people.
Eight people were rescued from the building.
Rescuers are still in Kasarani carrying on with rescue operations.
