Chaos erupted at the County assembly of Kisumu during vetting of the County Executive Committee Members (CECM) after one nominee failed to present her national ID card to the panel.
Judith Oluoch, the nominee for Public Service, crudely presented herself to be interviewed by the committee on appointment chaired by speaker Elisha Jack Oraro by failing to carry the crucial document.
She was temporarily denied a chance to continue with the interview and given some 20 minutes to produce her original identification card as standard norm requires.
Mrs. Oluoch is among the 10 CECM nominees facing the vetting committee but was nominated after Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o was compelled to nominate three more women to his cabinet following a court intervention and an uproar from the locals.
While briefing the press Speaker Oraro revealed that they were scheduled to vet five nominees yesterday and another five today but only three had been vetted before Judith Oluoch’s drama ensued.
Those who had faced the panel were CEC nominees for Finance and Economic Planning George Okong’o, John Awiti for education, technical training innovation and social services and their agriculture, fisheries, livestock development and irrigation counterpart Ken Onyango.
And nominees scheduled to face the committee today are nominated MCA Beatrice Odongo -Sports, Culture, Gender and Youth Affairs docket, Maryline Yanza Agwa – Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Greg Ganda – medical services, public health and sanitation), Kennedy Hongo -lands, physical planning housing and urban development, Salmon Orimba – infrastructure, energy and public works and Farida Salim -Trade, tourism, industry and marketing.
Investigations into Mrs. Olouch’s background revealed that she is a seasoned Governance, Human Resource and Capacity Development expert.
She is rich in experience and she has worked with top Institutions both locally and across the region in designing, coordinating and facilitating Governance and Leadership programs, and diverse Institutional Capacity Building initiatives.
Mrs Oluoch is also a Certified Trainer in Corporate Governance, Leadership and Human Resource Management.
