Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday, October 26, revealed that he was willing stand with President Uhuru Kenyatta on matters regarding the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Responding to a story that was carried by Daily Nation, the DP explained that Jubilee is a party celebrates diversity of opinion.
He went on to add that he was not in a dilemma about BBI which was the brainchild of Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“Dilemma? No way!Jubilee as a democratic party celebrates diversity of opinion free of hate and focused on transformation for all.
“For us big or small matters but ultimately as initiators of inclusive non-tribal political discourse we will stand behind our party and leader,” Ruto wrote.
The DP and his allies have previously been vocal against BBI saying it was going to be used by some leaders to advance their personal agendas.
Speaking at Chepsirei Technical Training Institute (TTI) on Saturday, October 19, Ruto stated that the initiative was started with the sole aim of uniting the country and Kenyans will decide on it’s implementation.
“We are in a democratic society and the proposals by BBI will be subjected to an open national conversation where every voice will be heard.
“Those working hard to create new fault lines will not succeed,” he explained.
