Earlier today, the Kenya Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union announced the passing on of a well-known Nuerologist.
KMPDU announced that Neurologist Prof Paul G. Kioy had succumbed to Covid-19 complications.
His death was announced by the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) on their official Twitter handle page Friday morning.
“The medical profession is mourning Prof. Paul G. Kioy who succumbed to Covid-19 complications. He was a Neurologist who served his patients with diligence, great teacher and mentor to many doctors in the country. Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends,” said KMPDU.
As the pandemic continues to ravage the country, the doctors union raised concern about the safety of frontline health workers.
“The welfare, safety and health of the doctors is paramount to the fight against Covid-19,” added KMPDU.

Professor Paul Ngigi Kioyi took my painful trouble as his own. He did nerve conduction studies on me back in 2008, and saw me in several subsequent visits. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace

This Giant of a man walked me through MG. Held our hand, and always gave is his ear. He was worth a 4 hour wait at his reception.
This is so very painful. Rest in Peace Prof. And may peace and strength be granted to your family.

Still in shock! Saddest day for his patients especially those living with Multiple Sclerosis. May they find comfort and most of all a good doctor who will help them cope with their situations.

This is truly sad! A personal loss to me. Prof. Kioy walked me through a difficult 3 year period to full recovery and I and my family owe my life to his good work dedication and faith. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
