Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa is currently receiving specialised treatment in South Africa, according to a section of Jubilee MPs.
The lawmakers, led by Kikuyu lawmaker, Kimani Ichung’wa, on Tuesday claimed that Barasa was “injected with an unknown substance” during rough-up in Kibra by-election on Thursday.
“They [ODM leaders] claim they did not sponsor any violence against Jubilee-allied leaders and supporters. McDonald Mariga, who ran for the Kibra parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, visited at least ten people, who were [allegedly] injured by ODM supporters,” Ichungw’a was quoted by K24 TV.
Ichungw’a was accompanied by among other MPs, Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Jayne Kihara (Naivasha) and Caleb Kositany (Soy).
However, ODM quickly dismissed the MPs allegations and instead, blamed the Jubilee leaders for the November 7 chaos.
The ODM leaders claimed that Ruto allies sponsored the attacks, and that it implied what “they are planning to use in 2022”.
“Democracy should reign during elections. Tanga Tanga team wreaked havoc in Kibra,” nominated MP Wilson Sossion said in a press briefing led by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
Other lawmakers who attended the briefing were Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and Ruaraka representative Tom Joseph Kajwang, among others.
