The ruling Jubilee party is once again on in-house cleaning mission weeding out perceived rebels days after the overwhelming votes by both the lower and upper houses to pass the BBI bill.

This is after the party’s National Management Committee (NMC) yesterday Wednesday 12, 2021 launched a disciplinary process now targeting one MP and to senators.

Reports indicate that on the party’s radar are Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria, and nominated Senators Cecile Mbarire and Milicent Omanga.

Kuria the ardent DP Ruto supporter is accused of supporting the ideals and campaigning for a rival candidate, while Omanga and Mbarire contravened the party position in regards to the BBI Bill voting.

This is after the two went against the party position after it had urged all its MPs to pass the Bill in its entirety.

Speaking yesterday, Jubilee party Deputy chairman David Murathe noted that Kuria has been campaigning for a PEP candidate in the Juja mini polls yet the Jubilee party too has a candidate in the race.

He added that discipline is very key in every setting and if Kuria is found guilty then he could be expelled from the Jubilee party.

“We have asked the Jubilee disciplinary committee to take up the matter and summon him to answer to the accusations. If he is culpable, we will remove him from the party through expulsion; we must retain discipline in our party,” said Murathe.

The move comes shortly after the party successfully ousted wayward Senator Isaac Mwaura replacing him with former Samburu Senator Sammy Leshore.

Leshore was gazette by the Kenyan poll body IEBC as Mwaura’s replacement despite a court order on the same.
