Mbita parents block new head teacher from accessing school

Parents and pupils from a school in Homa Bay County have block out the head teacher from accessing the school.
The residents of God Ariyo in Mbita Sub County protested as they blocked the new head teacher, Evalyne Odhiambo from accessing the school.
Led by the Board of Management Chairman John Mitema and the PTA chairman Meshack Obat, the protestors expressed their dissatisfaction with Ms Odhiambo claiming that she had not posted good results in her previous school.
But Ms Odhiambo refuted the claims and accused the protesters of perpetrating clanism and of being chauvinists.
She also added that the school she was posted from performed better the new school she is supposed to join.
The County TSC Director Grace Amira said that she was following on their matter together with her officers in the groundto ensure that it is duly addressed.
Ms Odhiambo is replacing Mr Samuel Orwa who has been transferred to another school.
Ms Odhiambo however did not report after getting a tip off that the locals had planned a protest.
