On Monday night, an 18-year-old male and his girlfriend were discovered dead at their home in Umoja Zone 8 in Kamkunji, Nairobi County.
The hunt for the two began after the man’s grandpa reported to Buru Buru Police Station that his phone calls to them had gone unanswered for days, according to detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The man’s Seychellois guardian, who reportedly pays their rent and occasionally stayed with them, had also tried reaching them to no avail.
“This triggered the grandfather to show up at his kin’s door, only to be met by a foul smell emanating from the inside of a locked door,” said the DCI in a statement.
Upon gaining access to the house, police officers found the man’s body on the bedroom floor.
“His hands had too been tied with a piece of cloth, had multiple stab wounds on the back and had a deep cut on the neck,” said the DCI, adding that his neck was additionally tied with an auxiliary cable.
The lady’s body, on the other hand, was found near the toilet, with many knife wounds on her shoulder, chest, and lower abdomen, and her hands tied behind her back with a piece of cloth. The passageway between the two rooms is claimed to be blood-stained.
Detectives also discovered that various home objects, including a television, two laptop computers, a music system, and the victims’ cell phones, had gone stolen.
A probe has since begun into the deaths.
