Last night, K24 TV presenter Anne Kiguta on Live TV revealed the real reason why Deputy President William Ruto’s ally and controversial MP Ndindi Nyoro failed to appear on her show ‘Punchline’.
The news presenter, in a fierce monologue, kicked off the 9 pm bulletin by calling out K24 management saying that they booted the interview with the Kiharu MP against her better judgement.
“Tonight, I begin with offering you an apology, we on ‘Punchline’ invited the fiery first-time legislator Ndindi Nyoro on the programme”, said Kiguta. “The Kiharu legislator as you well know is a strong defender of deputy president William Ruto, who has cast his aspersions on the BBI process. As the host of this programme, I have a responsibility to you the viewer and therefore say that this is not my decision and I respectfully disagree with it.
“We invited Nyoro on this programme and indeed we reach out to all politicians of all persuasions every single week because, we, because I believe in listening to all sides of the debate. However, the management of this station was of a contrary opinion and had their considered views, concerns by which this programme is bound. I must also say that this is a decision within their rights because as they say in all establishments, management reserves the right of admission. And so, my apologies to the viewers of the programme. However, I am nothing if not a boxer, and at least for tonight there is still some fight left in me and so the show must go on….”

The Kiharu lawmaker is a staunch ally of Deputy President William Ruto, and a key political point man in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region.
The region is considered the “political bedroom” of Ruto’s political nemesis President Uhuru Kenyatta who is said to own K24 TV.
Just recently, the station via the same Anne Kiguta came out and publicly said Ruto had no chance of becoming President.
“There is no path to leadership, at least one that we can see, that includes fighting your boss and undermining him. It’s not about whether the boss is wrong, it’s about recognizing that the boss is the boss. This is just our observation and we could be wrong but we will continue to watch and report,” Kiguta had said in a broadcast.
