Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has dismissed rumours that he has secretly married a 23-year-old lady.
Atwoli and his third wife, Mary Kilobi, were in
Watamu, Kilifi County, to celebrate his birthday last weekend.
The COTU boss took to his social media page to thank his family and friend for making his special day memorable.
“May I take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU for all your warm birthday wishes. Sincere gratitude to my wife Mary Atwoli, @EugeneLWamalwa and my son Philipo, who took me on a yacht trip around the Indian Ocean,” Atwoli stated.
Atwoli dismissed the rumours going round, saying that there is no problem marrying another woman and if has to do it then, he would do it publicly.
“That is a lazy rumour from some idle Kenyan. I was at the coast with my wife Mary (Kilobi Atwoli). In any case, there is no problem in marrying but if I have to do that I do it publicly not hiding from anyone,” Atwoli said.
Mary Kilobi had sent a heartwarming message to her husband Atwoli on his birthday. Mary and Atwoli got married in 2018.
She sent Atwoli a sweet love message on his
birthday: “Happy Birthday My Mr A. A long and I mean a long life of great
health and happiness is my sincere prayer to God Almighty for you!❤.”
