Supporters of Jubilee in Thika have come out guns blazing at controversial cleric David Kariuki Ngari whom they accuse of unlawfully interfering with the party’s MCA nomination exercise in the constituency.
One of the angry voters who sought anonymity reliably informed kenyanbulletin.com how Bishop Ngari (alias Gakuyo) compromised the entire process to ensure that only his preferred candidates were picked as winners.
In the message forwarded to us on Thursday, May 5, the source further disclosed that Mr Gakuyo managed to seamlessly achieve this unfair goal through the help of his trusted accomplices in the Jubilee Party nominations consensus panel.
His proxy in the powerful committee has been named as a certain Mr Wanyoike of the Thika Business District Chairman who played a leading role in the negotiations.
Local residents say that most of the aspirants fronted by Gakuyo are weak minions who only dance to his evil tune.
During the rigged process, all strong candidates were quickly eliminated.
What angered them the most was when one of Gakuyo’s well-known brokers Mr Joachim was awarded a ticket unopposed.
“Hi, please hide my identity.
Gakuyo interfered with the nomination process of the Jubilee Party in Thika.
This was through the help of his long time friend Thika, Business District Chairman Wanyoike who was heading the Consensus panel.
Gakuyo made sure that only MCA aspirants who he has been fronting were given the jubilee direct tickets in all the wards.
He hence fronted only weak candidates who were dancing to his tune.
Even if you are a strong candidate, you were dropped intentionally.
Only his candidates were given certificates.
- Cecilia – Gatuanyaga
- Lumbasi – Hospital
- Njeri – Kamenu
- Mwago – Township.
These people are not known in Thika but since they were dancing to his tune, they were gifted.
The party has thus fronted very weak MCAs to award this broker.
Remember Joachim miraculously ended up on the list because in his ward he was unopposed.
He was the only Jubilee aspirant in Ngoliba,” the source writes.
Last month, Bishop Gakuyo was handed a direct ticket to fly the Jubilee Party flag in Thika Constituency.
This followed consensus talks with his main rival Nduati Njuguna.
In November 2021, thousands of victims of the Ekeza Sacco, Gakuyo Investment club and Gakuyo real estate sought his barring from the 2022 polls over the Ksh1.5 billion scandal.
The victims who were never compensated despite an out of court agreement petitioned the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to stop Bishop Gakuyo from vying in the August elections.
The controversial televangelist, who founded Ekeza Sacco was forced to surrender to the police after accusations of defrauding members of money amounting to around Ksh1.5 Billion.
The scandal has made headlines in the country for some considerable time now with members of the Sacco coming out to demonstrate against the alleged embezzlement of their money in separate incidents.
The money was apparently transferred from the Sacco accounts to the personal account of the bishop for his personal use.
In 2018, the government revoked the license of the Sacco following complaints by the members that it was sharing financial accounts with the Gakuyo Real Estate Company.
