Chaos in Nyandarua as County Speaker Wahome resumes duty – KBC

Chaos erupted early morning at the Nyandarua County Assembly premises after Speaker Ndegwa Wahome forced his way in assisted by a group of youth.

The youths carrying placards stormed into the Assembly premises after bringing down the gate saying the Speaker should be allowed to carry out his duties.

Embattled Wahome was reinstated by the Court last week after being impeached for the second time by the Assembly.

Police officers were forced to lob tear gas canisters to disperse the surging crowd as all hell broke loose.

Five MCAs who are allies of Wahome were however denied access to the County Assembly by the police.

Among them as Gatimu ward MCA Kieru Wambui who was supposed to give a notice of motion to impeach Governor Francis Kimemia in today’s sitting.

Kieru who accuses Kimemia of corruption, abuse of office among other things had collected 13 signatures from MCAs supporting Kimemia’s impeachment.
