Davis Mwabili alias Inspekta Mwala hit the headlines after he hit and killed a pedestrian in Kaloleni, Kilifi county.
The actor was driving a Toyota Axio car along Kaloleni-Mazeras road when he hit Samuel Mwaki, 35, who died on the spot.
It is reported that Mwala was from a burial when the incident took place. The police said that the body of the late Samuel Mwaki was dragged for about 100 metres by the car.
The body of the deceased was then taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary in Mombasa.
Reports also reveal that Mwala escaped death by a whisker after furious boda boda riders wanted to lynch him after the incident. Luckily, the actor was saved by police who shoot in the air to disperse the angry mob.
Mwala’s car was impounded by the police and later the family of the late recorded a statement though took too long.
“We released him because the family took too long to record a statement. We want to see if they will agree with the family before we take the next step,” Okeri said.
