If someone signs your cheque, that ‘someone’ is your boss. March 9th handshake with the opposition chief Raila Odinga must be a jewel in Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential crown. He needed no Annans or top diplomats to cage Odinga. His method was home-grown and its holding to date. He cleverly ‘rehabilitated’ his enemy.
He must have signed something but then again it’s always easy with Mr. Odinga. He is a poor negotiator and he is never hungry for the lion share. He is not ‘serious’ about being a president because you can’t achieve a dream that you are not chasing, he is not chasing presidency. He is majestically walking behind it.
Mr. Odinga is the official opposition leader who can be ‘hired’ to shut up or let loose to make noise.
This time he is bagged; it’s always a thing when big boys in politics go shopping. Sharks cought fishs after the 2017 polls, Dp Dr. William Ruto ‘bought’ Aisha Jumwa, Khalwale, Mohamed Ali, he has paid deposit on Wetangula, Oparanya and Kalonzo.
The president ‘bought’ Odinga through the handshake then resorted to employing grandparents and Odinga was still on top of the long list.That is like after sale service, too much, few buyers do that.
On top of the envoy job, Odinga had shut and drum support, rubber stump ‘Huduma Number’ thing and Galana Kulalu project.
That is not Baba, this man is controlled and he is taking orders from a new boss. Not the people but one man who directs him to act like this.
It is embarrassing for self proclaimed ‘enigma’ and he done this to two regimes in a row. The leaders of those the two regimes pulled him cards of deception. Retired president played him with the Prime Minister thing; Uhuru has also done it through the BBI report.
Because really, how do you just sit back and expect the president of the day to push for some changes in law to create positions for you? This man knows he can’t get it through the ballot. He squandered his chances.
After being acquired through the handshake, he put himself in an akwerd position. He is sacrificing all his dreams, wishes and aspiration. The Building Bridges Initiative Report has badly ‘crashed’ his ego. This one has cut Baba to a mini size.
His premiership dreams have been ‘killed’, cremated and ashes grinded further. Jakom cannot run for Kibra or Bondo seat that even his brother Oburu lost, to come to parliament for President Ruto or someone consider him for the PM position. He no, he may even still be from a minority party.
Ceremonial presidency, BBI did not give a damn that sh!t. The president in BBI is executive, he is powerful. He can hire and fire PM Odinga.
Basically BBI report packages Odinga for retirement or if he wishes to continue then he will reset to default position. The official opposition leader, may be it will be dignified in post 2022 if BBI reports goes through the referendum.
This man has been played. Why was the president even meeting the GEMA leaders is Sagana? The document captured what his Mt. Kenya backyard wanted.
What has Raila to celebrate? That Opposition leader will be dignified or that Chebukati and his team will be replaced? Another ‘system’ friendly team will be in. Raila’s on safe heaven through BBI is retirement or official opposition. GEMA leaders announced their backing for BBI report because it ‘unifies’ the country and dignifies the opposition leader, Raila Odinga.
Raila is not a position to say any nay kind of thing. He has to drum up support for ‘his’ BBI report and he goes ahead to act overzealous. He is calling for a referendum to put a million nails on the coffin of his dreams.
He is used to being outplayed like this; this time is because he was ‘bagged’ through the handshake and his team bought and some compromised. When streets say that the hustler is turning guys into millionaires the real talk is that orange brothers are starving.
Case study: If it costs ten thousand shillings to bribe someone in the stature of Hon. Mbadi, how much does it cost to buy Aisha Jumwa or silence Amilo or Opondo Kaluma. May be 5k or some 2.5k (Hii sio kazi ya siku moja, hii ni kazi itakuja mpaka 2022 and even after).
Just like that and people’s presidency is thrown to the dogs. Baba forgot about the people’s presidency, his journey to Canaan ended somewhere in the deserts, he forgot about it he is enjoying the dates.
You can’t emerge from this state to beat schemers like Dp Ruto. It is said that he has become filthy rich; maybe he calculated the ‘cost’ of presidency and got his pockets twice deeper.
Odinga would not want to find himself in this bad position. He is not free. He shook and had his hands tied. He is not behind his moves, someone is. The winner will be the person behind strings, legacy will be sealed and the president is already in a ‘retirement ready’ mood.
Ruto is winning with every scheme and causing jitters in ODM’s bedroom. Raila is waiting for people to decide after he gave them a raw deal on Canaan.
Truth is, March 2018 to 2022 will be along show. He will be too tired to feature in the finals in august 2022. Plus he is aging? Tanga Tanga propaganda machines will convince people that Baba is an ancestor. He lost it when he was boxed to embrace ‘handshake’ at all costs.
Even extension of the task force tenure will not pay respect to his dreams just like the ‘edited’ version of the report launched two weeks ago at the Bomas of Kenya.
