Yesternight wasted Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja was forcefully arrested and detained at the Kilimani police station after he was found drinking at a bar along Dennis Pritt Road during curfew hours.
President Uhuru Kenyatta‘s close ally was taken in after causing a scene at the ladies Lounge where he was found drinking past 1 AM with 10 others.
According to the OB report at Kilimani police station, the first team of officers had told the senator to leave the social joint but he defied, prompting them to call in their seniors. Among the senior officers present was deputy Kilimani sub County police commander Adan Hassan.

SUBJECT:ARREST OF A VIP. TODAY AT AROUND O1.10HRS THE KILIMANI ORDERLY OFFICER RECIEVED INFORMATION THAT ONE BAR NAMELY LADIES LOUNGE WITHIN DENIS PRINT WAS STILL OPERATING.ON VISITING THE SAID PLACE FOUND ABOUT TEN PEOPLE SEATED OUTSIDE DRINKING AMONGST THE SENATOR NAIROBI HON.SAKAJA .HE WAS ADVISED TO LEAVE BUT DECLINED PROMPTING HER TO CALL THE REGIONAL ORDERLY OFFICER MR ASAMBASA ASP WHO TOO APPROACHED HIM IN VAIN .LATER THE DEPUTY OCPD KILIMANI MR, ADAN HASSAN ASP WITH A TEAM JOINED THE REGIONAL ORDERLY OFFICER THAT IS WHEN HON.SAKAJA BECAME VIOLENT RAISING UP HANDS TO BE HANDCUFFED .HE INCINTED OTHERS NOT TO GET AWAY .HENCE HON SAKAJA WAS ARRESTED TOGETHER WITH THREE OTHERS WHO REFUSED TO GIVE THEIR NAMES FOR DISOBEYING CURFEW ORDERS AND INCITING OTHERS .IN THE COURSE OF HIS ARREST OTHERS ESCAPED.WHILE IN CUSTODY HE WAS ASKED TO BE GIVEN FREEBOND BUT REFUSED TO LEAVE CELLS THREATENING TO. TRANSFER ALL OFFICERS WTHIN 24
Senator Sakaja is said to have also defied his order to leave and dared them to handcuff him.
“On visiting the said place, (police) found about 10 seated outside drinking. Sakaja became violent raising hands to be handcuffed. He invited others not to get away hence he was arrested together with three others who refused to give their names for disobeying curfew orders and inciting others. In the course of arrest, the others escaped,” the report reads.
The report says while in custody, Sakaja was asked to be given free bond but refused to leave police cells threatening to transfer all officers within 24 hours.
