Jubilee Purge: Ruto allies now plot to kick out Kuttuny and Mbito

Politicians allied to DP Dr. William Ruto in Trans Nzoia are plotting to unseat county Senator Michael Mbito and Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny, claiming they are undermining and fighting their boss.

Reliable sources told KB that Ruto allies are not happy with Dr Mbito after he voted for the removal of Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen from the majority leader position at the Senate while Hon. Kuttuny is being accused of working with the DP’s opponents in the Rift Valley out to shoot his 2022 presidential ambitions.

Led by Endebess MP Robert Pokuse, former Cabinet Minister Kipruto Kirwa and Trans Nzoia Jubilee Party Chairman Richard Chesebeh, the politicians said they will charge ahead with their plans to kick out Mbito and Kuttuny from their respective seats.
Mr Chesebeh is eying Trans Nzoia senatorial seat in 2022 while former Cherangany MP Wesley Korir will face off with Kuttuny who dethroned Mr. Kirwa from the seat he held for a decade.
Kuttuny lost the seat to Korir in 2013 but later won it with Ruto’s support in 2017 and Kirwa unsuccessfully vied for the Trans Nzoia senatorial seat in 2013 and 2017.

After losing to Korir in 2013 polls, Kuttuny was picked to serve as a political advisor at the Office of the President before he bounced back to Parliament in 2017.

Both Kirwa and Korir  are said to be working closely to send Kuttuny home for undermining the DP’s presidential ambition.

Kuttuny has been criticising Ruto’s brand of politics, a move which is expected to leave him with serious political injuries. Dr Pokuse and Chesebeh have as negotiations continue on who between Chesebeh and Henry ole Ndiema should face off with Mbito.

Mbito, Pokuse, Ndiema and Chesebeh come from the Sabaot community where Ruto enjoys huge support.

The move comes amid Jubilee Party purge that has seen  president Uhuru Kenyatta strip off politicians  allied to Ruto from party and senate positions.
