Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has disclosed
his last conversation with the late former Kibwezi Member of Parliament Kalembe
Ndile.
Speaking at Lee
Funeral home, the former Vice President revealed that he had been in touch with
the Kalembe Ndile on several occasions before he died.
Kalonzo stated that Kalembe had called him on Saturday, May29,
2021 at 3 a.m. as he was seeking for an admission to a hospital in Nairobi
County.
“He informed me that they had tried getting admitted at
a local hospital and was later admitted at Nairobi Hospital,”
“I honestly did not know that
was the last time I would be speaking to him,” Kalonzo stated.
The Wiper party leader while thanking the doctors for their efforts to save Kalembe’s life, Kalonzo affirmed that his death was not related to any Covid-19 complications.

Following the news of Kalembe’s demise,
various political leaders took to the social media to eulogise him with
President Uhuru Kenyatta describing him as a lively politician who loved and
worked with everyone and always held the interests of the country at heart.
“It is unfortunate that death has taken from us the Hon
Kalembe Ndile in his prime. He was a lively politician who loved and worked
with everyone and always held the interests of the country at heart,” President
Uhuru stated.
Deputy President William Ruto also described the late former
Kibwezi MP as a champion for the rights of the underprivileged.
“He will best be remembered
for his modesty, insights, and independent voice and fighting for the
rights of the underprivileged,” Ruto said.
