In Kenya, the police have colonial mentality, one can be arrested for no reason and most times youths have been on the short end of the stick.
The hate relationship between the youths and police is even documented in such songs as Kasayole by Timmy Tdat (ft Khaligraph), where he says, ‘tuko base tunachoma tukichana, vibes ziko sawa, tunacheka.. POLISI WANAKUJA KUSUMBUA TU VIJANA’.
Losely translated, police have a liking for disrupting youths who are relaxing in the hood.
This afternoon, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Twitter handle reports that they have arrested two Kenya Police constables, Lewis Kinyua of Kambakia Police Post and Lincoln Njeru of General Service Unit (GSU) in Embu Town for assaulting and handcuffing a Man without any justifiable reasons.
The two police officers, when asked, couldn’t explain the purpose of the arrest.
DCI has launched investigations.
Wow! Is this the new national police service?
What do you think?
