A middle aged man from Kibra has been charged for assaulting his four year old stepson.
The man identified as Patrick has been accused of mistreating the child at home for a number times when the his mother has gone to work.
He was charged at Kibra Law courts and was remanded at Industrial Area prison as police continue with the investigations.
According to Kibra Children officer Humphrey Lando, he mobilised his fellow police officers after the suspect’s neighbour tipped them off.
He was arrested at his house in Mwembeni in Kibra.
“We found the child on the floor with injuries on her body parts a clear indicator that she was assaulted,” he said.
Meanwhile the child has been treated at Kwa DC hospital and she is under the government’s care.
“We are still assisting the police with investigations but the court has directed that we keep and take care of the child until this matter is concluded,” he added.
