Kisumu County Government has given land grabbers of Kombedu Market in Bondeni a 24 hour notice to vacate and demolish their structures.

Kisumu County City Manager Abala Wanga says that the land grabbers have blocked roads and entrances to the market.

According to Wanga, one land grabber has even built a residential building at the center of the market blocking other traders.

“This is open air Market, now you who gave you the authority to erect a storey building at the center of this market? Had said this before that if you have a building at the centre of the market or  have grabbed land please vacate before we demolish,” says Abala  Wanga.

Wanga says that they are also going to ensure that all roads which were passing through the market are re-opened.

“This is an open air Market. Now you who gave you the authority to erect a storey building at the center of this market? Had said this before that if you have a building at the centre of the market or have grabbed land please vacate before we demolish,” says Abala  Wanga.

He says that his office is working so hard to stop the impunity of Land grabbing.
