Kenyan ambassador to the Kingdom to the Netherlands, H.E. Amb. Lawrence Lenayapa yesterday hosted a virtual meeting with the Kenyan Diaspora in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and the Representatives from Co-operative Bank and Kenya Revenue Authority to discuss investment opportunities available in Kenya and an outreach session on KRA services.
In the virtual meeting, Lenayapa committed to continued engagement with the Kenyans living in the Netherlands and Czech Republic to discuss issues pertinent to the diaspora and Kenyans.
Since he took office, Lenayapa intentions were to prioritise his focus on Kenya’s developmental agenda that is guided by President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Agenda, commonly known as the Big Four Agenda, will focus on moving Kenya forward in the areas of Manufacturing, Universal Healthcare, Housing and Food security.
On April 25,2021, Deputy President William Ruto disclosed his plans that will make the country better and fairer for Kenyans in diaspora.
He disclosed his plans in a virtual conversation with Kenyans in the Diaspora drawn from across the world.
According to Ruto, they undertook to advance the deliberation to configure Kenyan politics to issues, policies and programmes.
“We recognize the critical and huge contribution — both economically and intellectually — that Kenyans in the Diaspora make in the development of our country,” he tweeted.
On this account, he said that they had begun a clear, inclusive and structured engagement with them on broad and solid plans that will make Kenya a better and fairer country for everyone.

He added that they will open a platform for everyone in the diaspora to join the conversation.
Meanwhile, Co-operative Bank launched diaspora money transfer solution to make it easier for people to send money outside the country conveniently and affordably.
The facility is intended to give Kenyans abroad including Diaspora Saccos a ‘one-stop shop’ service.
