The M-PESA Foundation has allocated KES 254 million to support a new round of free medical camps across 30 counties, marking the third phase of its nationwide health outreach programme.

The initiative, launched in 2023, has so far reached more than 160,000 people across all 47 counties through previous rounds of service delivery. This latest phase is expected to run for 11 months and will expand the programme’s reach through ongoing partnerships with healthcare organizations and county governments.
Recent camps under this phase have already been held in Kajiado and Embu counties, where over 5,000 people received services such as maternal health consultations, cancer screenings, prenatal and antenatal checkups, child wellness clinics, dental checkups, general consultations, and eye care.
According to M-PESA Foundation Chairman Nicholas Ng’ang’a, the expansion reflects a response to health needs identified during the earlier stages of the programme. The Foundation is collaborating with Zuri Health, Lions Sight First Eye Hospital, and the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE). KISE’s role focuses on supporting access to care for persons with disabilities, contributing to broader inclusion during the outreach.
Telemedicine services are also being integrated into the medical camps, offering remote consultations for patients who require follow-up or more specialized support.
The programme’s first phase involved 35 medical camps in 35 counties and reached around 60,000 people. In the second phase, 40 camps were held across 39 counties, offering services to over 100,000 beneficiaries.
With the commencement of this latest phase, the Foundation’s total investment in the medical outreach initiative has reached KES 377 million.
