A man has been arraigned and charged in court for allegedly stealing lingerie, underwear, and other assorted goods worth Sh200,000.

Caleb Onyango Otieno is accused of stealing the items belonging to Lilian Mwangi at Sasa Mall along Moi Avenue in Nairobi.

The court heard that the accused stole 48 pieces of lingerie, 36 pieces of underwear, 36 pieces of pajamas, 22 pieces of cotton robes, and 6 pieces of silk robes on March 26th, 2021.

Appearing before senior principal magistrate Martha Nanzushi at the Milimani law court on Tuesday, Otieno pleaded not guilty to the charges and appealed for lenient bail terms, saying that he is from a humble background.

He was granted a cash bail of Sh50,000 or a bond of Sh100,000. The case will be mentioned on June 4th, 2021.
