A Covid-19 patient in isolation at the Mbagathi Infectious Disease Unit in Nairobi attempted to commit suicide.The 30 year old man was admitted on Saturday at about 6pm to be quarantined for 14 days.

Nurses who were checking on the patients heard him struggle and rushed to his rescue as they attended to his injuries and counselled him.
“We told him he is young and will recover. We informed him he was not the only one who is sick and that all shall be well,” said an one nurse.
Police were allowed to access the scene of crime in protective gears as officials increased surveillance to ensure safety in the facility. Isolation centers have been criticized for sending shivers down the spines of many patients since they are viewed as prisons.

While reporting that 98 people have fully recovered from the Covid-19 disease on Saturday President Uhuru Kenyatta also said that the number of infections in Kenya is way below what they had anticipated.
He also announced that cessation of movement into and out of Nairobi Metropolitan area and the counties of Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa be extended for another 21 days. The nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew was also extended for 21 days.
