Oscar Sudi reveals why he missed the Rift Valley MPs retreat in Naivasha

Rift valley Members of Parliament (MPs) on Thursday night convened a meeting in Naivasha to discuss myriad issues including the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report and the alleged intimidation of Deputy President William Ruto from a section of government officials.

With at least 100 MPs reportedly confirmed their attendance, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, an ardent supporter of DP Ruto, was absent.

However, according to Sudi, he failed to attend the retreat due to family commitments.

The MP also assured his colleagues and followers that he will support what his colleagues will agree on and he will be present during their Friday press conference.

“I didn’t manage to attend the Naivasha meeting because I was committed to organizing a ceremony at home. However, I will address the media tomorrow at 10.00 a.m in line with what my colleagues addressed. Stay tuned,” wrote Sudi on his Facebook page.

The Naivasha retreat by Ruto-allied MPs comes in the wake of the simmering debate over which way to go in implementing the BBI report.

The MPs, who have on record slamming the implementation of the report through a referendum, have been advocating for a parliamentary system of implementing the report.

Their meetings come a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta tore them apart over their czar criticism of the report.

The President on Wednesday accused them of misleading the public and urged them to allow the citizens to read the document so that they can propose the best away forward about what they need.

President Uhuru lashed at them for making misleading speculations on the BBI report and added that they were not reliable in advocating for the agenda of the common citizens.
