Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga says he will make an announcement on his next political move in January 2023.
Odinga, who spoke at a burial ceremony in Migori on Saturday, insisted that IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati bungled the August 9th presidential election, saying the will of Kenyans was subverted.
“This matter is not over. I will give direction at the beginning of January. We cannot have a situation where only a few individuals make decisions on who is going to lead the country after Kenyans have exercised their right to vote,” said Odinga.
He similarly defended the four IEBC commissioners who disowned the results of the presidential election, saying the officials should not be vilified and persecuted as they had the interests of Kenyans at heart.
“The four commissioners are being treated badly while Chebukati and his team are seen as angels. The truth will come out soon. People who stole the vote are running around insulting us as if they own this country,” he added.
Odinga, 77, lost his fifth stab at the presidency in the August 9th election in which he emerged second behind President Ruto, who garnered 50.49 percent of the total votes.
