Sports people will have to wait a little bit longer to resume sporting activities, as President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the cessation of movement in the five disease zoned counties.
“The resumption of sporting activities shall be guided by the regulations to be issued by the Ministry of Health jointly with the Ministry of Sports.” Uhuru said.
Sporting activities were banned early March, upon which a number of federations embarked on mass vaccinations exercises of its players; in the hope that they will be granted permission to resume.
However, the government remained indifferent to their cause, only providing an exception to those who were participating in international events.

It remains to be seen whether the ministry will offer a phased approach to the resumption of sporting activities, the way they did it last time whereby they clustered it to contact and non- contact sports, or it will be a uniform guide upon successful fulfillment of certain protocols.
