Juventus’ forward Cristiano Ronaldo flew back to Italy on Monday after staying in native Portugal for nearly two months in coronavirus lockdown.
The soccer star landed in Turin Airport just some 20 minutes after 10 pm local time, according to Italian media reported that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner arrived by private jet just some 20 minutes after 10pm from the Portuguese island of Madeira and will be in self isolation for fourteen days.
The star player featured in last Serie A game against Inter Milan, where the ‘Old ladies’ won 2-0 behind closed doors at the Allianz Stadium on March 8.
Italian league was later suspended as the country grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic which has killed over 29,000 people but Ronaldo had to return to Madeira after the match to be close to his mother Dolores who had suffered a stroke.
So far Juventus have recalled their 10 overseas players after Serie A clubs were given go ahead to return to individual training on Monday.
Juventus are on top of the Serie A standings with only one point ahead of Lazio, as they struggle to secure a ninth consecutive Scudetto.

Midfielder Federico Bernardeschi, Juan Cuadrado, Carlo Pinsoglio, Leonardo Bonucci and Aaron Ramsey were the first bunch to arrive and were all wearing face masks. The club is also waiting for the return of Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt and midfielder Blaise Matuidi, who went home (France) after recovering from the virus but striker Gonzalo Higuain will still remain in Argentina where he returned to be with his sick mother.
