Kabogo condemns BBI politicians for mistreating Kuria

Former Kiambu Governor William Gitau Kabogo  has condemned the mistreatment of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria during the BBI political rally in Kitui over the weekend.

Kabogo has said that it is time those steering the BBI meetings to embrace everyone including those with different opinions.“Of course Kuria is a nuisance…allow people to speak… ejecting him from the meeting was not the right thing to do,” Kabogo said.

But Kabogo blamed Kuria for showing up at the meeting late after everyone had taken their seats and settled thus causing chaos. He also said that the BBI has been hijacked by politicians, as he echoed the pleas of US ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter, who pleaded with the Kenyan leaders to make the BBI a people-driven process.

Hon. Moses Kuria was ejected at BBI meeting on Saturday, and forced to sit on the ground before leaders as a section of the crowd and leaders called for him to be escorted to the dais.

Kuria challenged politicians to address the grievances to the committee of experts through a memorandum as he revealed that he has plans to do the same before BBI team heads to Meru.

Kabogo said that calmess was achhievd through the handshake but the plights of the ordinary Kenyans remain neglected. He also lashed at the plots to introduce regional governments which the BBI drummers have mooted as one of the proposed changes in governance.
