Graphic: Suspected COVID-19 Chinese Patient Stoned in Nyali?

A 32 year old Chinese female has been stoned to death by residents in Nyali Mombasa after she was allegedly suspected to have signs of COVID-19 virus and failed to go to hospital for testing.

Soon after the President confirmed to the nation in his Televised Address to the Nation that Kenya had three confirmed cases, tension reigned the State. Latest, Tanzania authorities reports 2 more cases of corona-virus in Zanzibar and Dar-esalaam.

This was the President’s fears. Peoples reaction to news that brings a bad omen in his already troubled governing period. Tension is who you think you should be.

According to a local bog, The Chinese is alleged to have chipped in a supermarket to buy daily necessities where the supermarket attendants noticed that she was having signs of the virus.

The local daily reported that supermarket attendants had confirmed that the female victim was coughing ,and was also having some difficulty with breathing .This is when one of the attendants who noticed the signs,signaled the other attendants which later raised the alarm.

Corona Virus Scare

The supermarket attendants are said to have escaped and shouted that their was a Chinese with signs of the deadly virus.

The female Chinese who resides in Nyali suburbs of the coastal city,is said to have raised alarm from other residents within the vicinity  who asked her to go for testing at the Coast General Hospital .This is when the Chinese refused the accusations saying that she was not positive for the virus and that she would not attend any health facility for further testing.

The Nyali residents are said to have been angered by the utterance from the 32 year old Chinese and stoned her to death. Police who arrived at the scene could not help the victim as she had already succumbed to the viscous punishment.

The Chinese female is said to have traveled back to Kenya from China in November 2019 and later went to her home in Nyali where she resides.

This comes at a time when yet another local daily had published allegations that Two men of Italian origin were pushed off the ferry when they started coughing continuously. The two men were crossing from Likoni towards Mombasa Island.

Governments around the world have stepped up restrictions on the movement of their citizens to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has killed nearly 5,800 people with over 153,000 infected globally, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

In the recent updates, South Africa confirms 116 Coronavirus cases, up 31 from yesterday. Increase of 6 local transmission cases.
