All evidence point heavily that 84-year-old Félicien Kabuga –one of the world’s most wanted fugitives has been living in Kenya. Authorities are said to have been aware of that..
So, How did he fly Kenya to France? How did he land in France? Who are these that are involved/have been involved in his unthinkable fugitive lifestyle?
Falecien Kabuga is alleged to have been the leading mastermind in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
French authorities reported that they arrested him in Paris. French authorities said it was a joint investigation with the IRMCT Office of the Prosecutor. The man was living under a false name in an apartment near Paris.
Earlier today, Adrian who writes for the UK based tabloid, tweeted what human activist and journalist the late Ken Wafula told him before he passed.
In 2018, it was reported that the Eldoret-based human rights activist and politician Ken Wafula had passed on.
Mr Wafula, who was the founder of Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD), died while receiving treatment at Eldoret St Luke’s Hospital where he had been rushed after falling ill at his Kapsoya residence.
According to family members and colleagues, Mr Wafula was admitted to the hospital suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.
“He was taken to the hospital on Tuesday at around noon after his condition deteriorated and doctors unsuccessfully tried to save his life. He was in high spirits when I left him last evening only to be told this morning that he had passed on,” said Mr Nick Omito, who co-founded CHRD with Mr Wafula.
Before he died, Ken Wafula told me that Felicien Kabuga was hiding out in Eldoret, where he allegedly owned a shopping centre. He said he was being protected by Kenyan intelligence and a certain prominent Kalenjin politician(Zakayo Cheruiyot)
He told me that Meshack Yebei has called him shortly before Yebei’s murder to say he knew where Kabuga was hiding and he proposed Yebei and Wafula work together to report Kabuga’s whereabouts to the US embassy and then split the $5m reward.
Wafula said no because he was afraid. Following the murder of journalist William Gichuki, who was trying to trace Kabuga, he said a delivery man who accidentally knocked on Kabuga’s door in Eldoret, mistaking it for another house, was also murdered.
He claimed that Kabuga received regular treatment for his diabetes at a military hospital in Nakuru because he had been given a secret identity in the KDF as a colonel. He said that Kabuga often went to kisumu because he needed sunshine and he would go disguised as a woman.
He said that both the murder of Yebei and Eldoret Mirror editor John Kituyi May have been connected to Kabuga – though both might also have been connected to a political sponsored attempt to silence ICC witnesses.
As I have said before, it is possible that Wafula was just a conspiracy theorist. Arrest of Kabuga might give credence to that. But we cannot put this to him because Ken Wafula died in January, 2018 a few months after my conversation with him in his Eldoret office.
