A Short Funeral Programme of Senator Wetangula’s Brother Who Died of COVID-19

Last week, It was reported that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi lost their brother after suffering from a long illness.

It would later turn out that Tony Wetangula had not died of a heart attack as said before. A source close to the family has confirmed that the actual cause of death was coronavirus.

On Friday, May 15, the ODM leader Raila Odinga condoled with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi over the loss of their brother.

“My condolences go out to Senator Moses Wetangula and Hon. Tim Wanyonyi following the passing of their brother Tony Waswa. May the Lord grant their entire family comfort at this trying moment and may Tony Rest In Eternal Peace,” Odinga wrote.

The body left Nairobi today, Wednesday, May 20, 2020, via a chopper that had been offered by President Uhuru Kenyatta to Senator Wetangula and Family. The availability of this chopper has greatly advised another change of date back to Wednesday.

Burial was today 10 minutes upon arrival. Burial preparations including the digging of his grave had already been arranged back at home.

The Bungoma Senator’s family members had been placed under quarantine. The COVID19 Results for the two Wetangula sisters is yet to come… They were transferred to Webuye County Hospital isolation ward.
