The day is celebrated to mark the day Kenyans took to the streets thirty years ago, july 7, 1990 to demand the return of multiparty democracy.

Hundreds of kenyans were killed by police and regime of the day but with each passing year, Saba Saba, is fading into dim recesses of our collective consciousness.

Even the regime of the day has its roots deep in Kanu and therefore is expected to make less reference to hundreds of kenyans who lost their lives on the fateful day.

ODM leaders Raila Odinga, Senator James Orengo are some of the politicians who felt the wrath of the regime the when they pushed for return to multi party democracy.

The two among other politicians are now in bed with elite politicians who have pay no attention to Saba Saba, are not giving the much attention because of 2022 succession politics, handshake and BBI politics.
