There have been rumours of devil-worshipping in the Kakamega tragedy where slightly over a dozen children were killed.
Speaking during the memorial service for the children, former Kakamega Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale said that churches should not be using the school premises as churches on Sundays. He also made the remark addressing the police that Winners Chapel, the Christian organisation that belongs to rich Nigerian Bishop David Oyedepo has in the past been found to have killed children.
“Bwana OCS, kuna kanisa imewahi patikana kuua watoto wetu hapo. Hiyo kanisa inaitwa Winners Chapel’, Khalwalle said.
A somber mood has engulfed the memorial with small coffins bearing the remains of the fallen victims lined up on tables. The bodies will later be released to their families for burial.
The national government in collaboration with the Kakamega county government will cater for all expenses of the burial of the pupils.
Police are still conducting investigations to establish the cause of the stampede that left 39 others seriously injured.
