Kenyan this afternoon took to Twitter to call out the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) for shielding Eastleigh Killer Cop Ahmed Rashid. The hashtag #IpoaCoveringUpRashid was among the top 20 topics on Twitter.
Many Kenyans will remember Rashid as the cold-blooded cop who shot two young boys in Eastleigh in the full glare of a crowd of people a 3 years ago.
While Kenyans accuse Rahid of extra-judicial killings, inside police circles he is praised for reducing crime rates in the Area by 80 per cent. A figure not based on any statistical facts.
Many Kenyan Youths have died in the hands of Killer Cop Ahmed Rashid. Rashid is also accused of committing the killings while under the influence or drugs or alcohol.
UK News website once wrote an article stating that Kenyans are five times more likely to be shot dead by police than by armed robbers, according to a new report that highlights failures in British attempts to help reform the country’s police force.
This was 6 years ago, but the same continues to happen to this day.
Since the curfew began in March, police have killed more Kenyans than the pandemic. Even as IPOA tried to save face here below:
Chair Anne Makori, Covid-19 curfew; Police shall first use non-violent means. Force shall be proportionate. Death, serious injury shall be reported immediately to @IPOA_KE. Failure to report by police is an offence. Following orders is no excuse for unlawful use of force.^MF pic.twitter.com/sKarxYG9nh
