COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli might be a man of many controversies but his work speaks for itself.
For the Fourth time in a row, Atwoli has been re-elected as a Member of International Labor Organization (ILO), Governing Body in Geneva, Switzerland.
The 71-year-old was among the candidates who received the highest votes globally.
He has been elected to represent workers interests on the African Continent for the next four years.
Atwoli was thrilled with the news of his re-election and this is how he reacted;
I’m humbled by all your congratulatory messages on my 4th re-election as a Member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Governing Body. To all Kenyan workers, THANK YOU for your support that has given me recognition worldwide. I promise to continue serving you unwavering.
COTU Sec Gen Francis Atwoli tweeted
The Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU), Congratulated Atwoli for his re-election.
Congratulation, Francis Atwoli on your RESOUNDING re-election as a Member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Governing Body. Your fourth re-election to this important decision-making body is a STRONG attestation of the confidence that workers, globally, have in you
Netizens have also reacted to the News and this is what they had to say on twitter:
Bro, you judge Atwoli based on what you see on social media. Reason please and let your desperation not obscure you from seeing the good deeds of @AtwoliDza
Atwoli is the only kenya leader not elected in him own country but gets re-elected internationally
Mzee Francis Atwoli keeps winning at the international level. It’s a strong warning to those who demean his ability as top mobilizer. DP Ruto’s team should be careful when undermining such a great leader. Francisco is a GOAT.
