3 dead as PSV matatu collides with a lorry in Makupa – KBC

3 people have died after a 14-seater Matatu traveling from Makupa to Changamwe lost control and collided with a lorry.

According to witnesses, the PSV vehicle flew over a barrier before colliding head-on with the lorry heading to Mombasa at around 7:30 am Thursday Morning.

Although initial reports indicated that five others passengers were injured in the accident, Coast region Traffic boss Peter Maina called for calm saying investigations are ongoing to determine the number of casualties as well as the cause of the accident.

The injured were rushed to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased are at the same hospital’s morgue.
