Corporate politics is often bad and ugly, but in Kenya, it is petty and murky due to the rise and rise of the rabid feminist movement.
Sylvia Mulinge
Sylvia Wairiu Mulinge is one of the most successful corporate managers in Kenya. She is rich and daring. However, she was silenced on all platforms by a scandal that happened in 2011. She drove over a child while drunk and bribed the family with Sh800,000 to keep quite. The case collapsed because of shoddy investigations by the Langata Police Station, most of whom have since been transferred, died or are still under her payroll. Mulinge unsuccessfully tried to lead a Telco in Tanzania, that is related to Safaricom. She reportedly was eyeing the CEO position when the powers that be settled on the short and unappealing Peter Ndegwa.
Ms Mulinge has tried to wash her image through giving sermons in church, but her evil extends beyond murder. As an early Safaricom employee, she has overseen the theft of intellectual property by Kenyan innovators. She has been described as someone who by the whiff of the hands tells innovators, ‘this cannot work’. only for the Telco to steal he idea, some registered, and take them as their own. Many cases are in court.
She was also behind the cashless matatu fare where the documents to the Sh700 million project that collapsed are missing. She might have become a billionaire from this and the CCTV scandals.
Judy Mose
Judy Mose is a junior clerical officer at the corrupt Kenya Uban Roads Authority (KURA).
Let’s just say, she has the boss, the Managing Director by the balls, literally. She controls everything from procurement to who gets promoted and who sits where and when.
A local blogger describes her rise as, ‘ from just a mere paper and pen shuffler to a loathed egocentric figure at KURA’.
“In one reported incident that stood out, employees are said to vividly recall one chaotic afternoon when a bitter and frustrated Judy reportedly bulged into Kinoti’s office to protest missing out on a lucrative multi-million road tender that was awarded to a different entity despite the Boss himself having assured her of bagging it’, canykundi.com says.
Life for the top bosses at KURA is hell because a hood-rat couldn’t keepit in the pants and promoted an illiterate village woman who is now wrecking havoc at the roads agency.
Mose tried to forge her degree at Unvesity of Nairobi, but was busted, she fled never to come back to the giant academic institution.
Wandia Gichuru
Wandia Gichuru owns a fashion house known as Vivo Woman Wear or Vivo Activewear.
For the better part of its existence, staff endured untold slaverry and suffering.
This is until an employee described her as a ‘tyrant who has put her welfare ahead of everyone elese’s’.
Wandia hire and fires at will. She escapes legal responsibility by putting staff on contract and sacking some before the probation period is over. Some level-headed staff resign due to the toxic work environment.
She is so toxic to the core.
“The MD, Wandia Gichuru is in the media as an entrepreneurial successs story but she herself yells at employees, forces Human Resources Manager to fires people without due disciplinary process (and most times, for no reason), and decides not to renew contracts (again for no reason) or give performance evaluations’.
