The rot at Masinde Muliro University: How the institution is ruthlessly stealing from its students

A day after Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology was closed indefinitely due to demonstrations due schemed by the institution’s organization body, Kenyanbulletin.com has received insider details in how the administration is swindling students money.

Our source who is a 4th year student studying journalism at the institution revealed that he has been paying Ksh. 5,000 every semester for practicals that he and a host of many other students  have never attended to since the first year.

Away from the Ksh. 5,000, the students also paid Ksh. 500 each for smart cards and ironically most students have graduated without the said smart cards.

Enough is enough

On Wednesday, 18th students at the institution held peaceful demonstrations against the rogue administration.

The students through the organization body cited internet breakdown hence delay of uploading student’s marks on the portal, unprecedented fee payment deadline, gross harassment of students at the finance department and violation of MMUSO constitution by the administration as the reasons behind the demonstrations.
