Kipchoge Is At The Coast For Mashujaa Day Celebrations

A week after breaking his own record to be the greatest marathoner of all times, Eliud Kipchoge has flown down coast for Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Kiochoge was a board Kenya Forest Services Plane and checked at the Pride Inn Beach Resort after touching the ground. He is expected to receive a special honor from the President.

This year’s Mashujaa Day fete is at the coastal city, Mombasa led by His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta who flew down on Thursday. Handshake Partner Raila Odinga arrived on Saturday among a host of other dignitaries.

In another break from the normal tradition, the military match pasts common at national celebrations will involve naval vessels and marine maneuvers along the Likoni Channel, besides the usual infantry and air force displays.

Mombasa streets have been decorated with national flags and mementos with thousands of locals expected to attend. Today’s celebrations are expected to last not more than two hours to beat the heat and humidity that peak towards the afternoon as well as rains that have been pounding the coastal city for days.

The President will address national and foreign policy issues on the economy, foreign relations and of course highlight achievements of Jubilee Administration.
