Security officers based at JKIA on Tuesday, September 22 intercepted a motor vehicle where they arrested six suspects who had hidden drugs inside 150 French Beans carton.
The officers who were acting on a tip-off intercepted the motor vehicle Reg No. KAW 122R at the Airways Cargo Export section carrying the cartons labeled Fine Beans and Ravaya.
Upon inspection, the officers established that the cartons contained French beans and eggplants on top but had Khat (Miraa) concealed underneath.
Six suspects, Ahmed Habib, James Ngure, Duke Mutambo, Raphael Ngotho, Stephen Ngugi, and Julius Mulwa were arrested and are set to be arraigned in court.
