6 High school going Peddlers arrested

The school going youth of Kisumu should not join terror groups or use drugs on the pretext of unemployment according to the county commissioner.

“No one will claim they do drugs or leave school and joined terrorism because they have no work. All these projects the government is implementing here are meant to provide jobs. Seek them out so that you don’t fall on the wrong side of the law. As for security, it is top-notch,” Kisumu county police commander Samuel Anampiu said.

This comes at a time that the cops had arrested Six secondary school students on Monday evening with rolls of bhang in Kisumu.

The Hihgh school students, according to Kisumu county police commander Samuel Anampiu, were arrested in a house within Otonglo area. Police said the six are form three students.

The county police boss said the students were arrested during a crackdown on illicit brew and drugs within Korando B sub location.

“The operation was carried out by police officers from Kogony police post and the assistant chief of Korando B sub location,” he said.

Anampiu said the students were found with three-and-a-half rolls of bhang under a table during the 5 .50pm operation. The students are aged between 17 and 19 years.

“The exhibit has been kept by the Investigating officer and the suspects will be arraigned tommorow (Tuesday),” he said.

He said that the students will spend the night at Maseno police station where they are being held.
